Prof. Annelies Blom, Ph.D.

Survex - Survey Methods Consulting was founded by Annelies Blom in April 2011.

Prof. Dr. Annelies Blom studied social sciences at University College Utrecht (Netherlands) and European politics at the University of Oxford (Great-Britain). In 2009 she completed her PhD on nonresponse in international surveys at the University of Essex (Great-Britain).

Prior to founding Survex Dr. Blom worked as a survey methodologist and researcher on various national and international studies. After university she worked at the National Centre for Social Research (NatCen) in London, where she developed and analysed education studies. As a survey methodologist she was employed at GESIS (formerly ZUMA) on the European Social Survey (ESS) and headed the research unit survey methodology at the Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe (SHARE) at the University of Mannheim.

Since September 2012 Prof. Dr. Blom is Juniorprofessor for Methods of Empirical Social Research, in particular Internet Panel Survey Research, at the University of Mannheim and heads the German Internet Panel (GIP) at the Collaborative Research Center 884 "Political Economy of Reforms".
